Summer 2022 Reunion Weekend

Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September 2022

The Wills Hall Association and the Bristol Alumni Network* are delighted to announce the return of the alumni reunion weekend.

We have decided to try a different time of year from past alumni weekends and are looking forward to welcoming members, friends, and guests to back to Bristol.

The programme starts with a social event on the Friday evening in Clifton. The weekend then features tours of the Wills Memorial Building including its tower, going inside the Clifton Suspension Bridge, around the Botanic Gardens and back to 1960s Bristol. The Wills Hall Association dinner will be on the evening of Saturday 3rd September after a drinks reception with the other Halls Associations in the grounds of the Holmes. Our guest of honour is Professor Michael Benton OBE FRS. Michael Benton is a University of Bristol palaeontologist who has made fundamental contributions to understanding the history of life, particularly concerning how biodiversity changes through time. The JCR President will also be speaking about her year in office.

On Sunday, we will have our usual programme of the AGM, chapel service then morning coffee followed by the Arthur Graves Memorial Lecture “University Life in the 1960s” presented by Wills alumnus Christopher Embrey, BSc Physics 1969. The weekend will conclude with a buffet lunch.

* The Bristol Alumni Network (BAN) is a collection of alumni volunteers and friends from halls of residence associations (including the Wills Hall Association), branches, departmental and subject societies, and sports clubs.
